Central FM drop Country Programme

The powers that be have dropped most of Central FM's weekend programming, in favour of non-local networked programming. That means that , after 15 years and 1,028 programmes, the station's longest running presenter, Stewart Fenwick, who presented the station's popular Country music show has been dropped.
The last programme was broadcast last Sunday, October 16th, and Stewart received a telephone call the following day advising him of the immediate cancellation of the programme, which will be replaced by a Top 40 Pop chart show.

In the US, the Country music community have reacted quickly by getting involved in Red Cross fundraisers for the victims of the disaster.
Tim McGraw returns to his home state Friday (Sept. 2) when he co-headlines A Concert for Hurricane Relief, on NBC, MSNBC and CNBC. McGraw, a native of the north Louisiana town of Start,
The Grand Ole Opry will donate all proceeds from its Sept. 27 show at the Opry House. The Opry is inviting many of country's biggest stars to play that night, including Alan Jackson, Alison Krauss, Craig Morgan& Billy Currington.
