We're all shocked at the terrible conditions that have emerged in New Orleans and other Gulf Coast communities in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina last weekend.
In the US, the Country music community have reacted quickly by getting involved in Red Cross fundraisers for the victims of the disaster.
Tim McGraw returns to his home state Friday (Sept. 2) when he co-headlines A Concert for Hurricane Relief, on NBC, MSNBC and CNBC. McGraw, a native of the north Louisiana town of Start,
The Grand Ole Opry will donate all proceeds from its Sept. 27 show at the Opry House.The Opry is inviting many of country's biggest stars to play that night, including Alan Jackson, Alison Krauss, Craig Morgan& Billy Currington.
CMT are helping out, too Gretchen Wilson is the only confirmed country artist right now for a nationwide cable TV fundraiser to be shown Sept. 10 on sister networks CMT, MTV and VH1.
